What is a grassed waterway?
A grassed waterway is a shaped, graded channel that's sown in grass or other suitable vegetation. The vegetation slows the water down and carries it to a stable outlet at a speed that won't cause erosion.
Permanent grass cover protects the soil from concentrated flows, and grassed waterways significantly reduce gully erosion.
